What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is
something that occurs naturally in everyday life. If
you have ever been transported while watching a movie
(laughing or crying even when you know it is fiction), or
have lost time while driving a familiar route, you have
experienced environmental hypnosis.
In your hypnosis
session, we induce the same type of hypnotic state, using it to focus on
your goals and concerns in order to work on them effectively. Just
like when you're involved in a movie, you are always conscious and able
to make decisions.
You will not bark
like a chicken in a stage hypnosis show, nor do anything that you do not
want to. Show business is show business, after all.
Is this
therapy?
No. We do not
diagnose or treat mental or emotional disorders. There are
government agencies and private practices who specifically deal with
these disorders. However, we can work
with
licensed medical or psychological professionals at their discretion as
needed.
Is this meditation?
No. However,
meditation and hypnosis are closely related. The goal of
meditation are different. Hypnosis focuses thoughts, whereas
meditation clears thoughts. Other than that, the two are very
similar.
What if I can't be hypnotized?
Under the right
circumstances, almost everyone can be hypnotized. However, like
all self-improvement, you must be willing. You cannot be
hypnotized without your cooperation. It is truly your decision.
